We’re so glad you’re here. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll discover more than just a church—you’ll find a family that loves God, His word, and loves people. At Byesville Assembly, the Spirit of God moves freely, hearts are encouraged, lives are changed, and everyone is welcome. We’d be honored to worship with you and partner with you as we journey through this life.

Sam Adair

Lead Pastor

Pastor Sam Adair has faithfully served in ministry for more than 26 years, with a heart devoted to helping people know Jesus and grow in their faith. He spent many years as a youth pastor before stepping into the role of lead pastor over a decade ago. Originally from Missouri, Pastor Sam brings a passion for practical, Christ-centered teaching and a genuine love for people into every area of ministry.

Sam and his wife, Beth, were married in 2009 and share a deep commitment to serving the Lord together. Beth, originally from Michigan, has dedicated many years to girls ministry and previously served as an Assembly of God–appointed missionary to the Netherlands. Her heart for mentoring, discipleship, and missions continues to shape the ministry they share as a family.

The Adairs are blessed with two children, Sydney (born in 2010) and Chase (born in 2013), who are a joyful part of their family life and ministry journey. Most recently, the Adairs served in Arkansas, where they spent nearly 11 years investing in people, building relationships, and watching God work in powerful ways.

As a family, Sam and Beth love spending time with friends and family and are passionate about helping others grow in their relationship with Jesus. They are thrilled to be a part of the Byesville community and are excited to see all that God has in store for the church and the people they are honored to serve.

What to expect

Walking into a new place can feel a little uncomfortable—but we want you to know that from the moment you walk through the doors of Byesville Assembly of God, you are truly welcome here. Our desire is for you to feel at home, so please don’t worry about what you’re wearing—we’re simply glad you’re here. You can expect friendly, smiling faces ready to greet you, not to put you on the spot, but to warmly welcome you in.  During our service, we enjoy spending time together as a church family, which often includes a brief meet-and-greet. You’re welcome to remain seated if you prefer, though others may stop by to say hello. We worship the Lord together through live music, singing, and prayer. We also worship through giving, but please know there is no expectation or obligation for you to give.

Our pastor shares a message that is practical, spiritual, and rooted in Scripture—designed to help us grow in our faith and recognize how God is leading us both individually and as a church family. Following the message, there is often a time of response and an invitation to connect personally with God. Our hope is that you would come, experience what God is doing, and feel His presence among us.  As part of the Assemblies of God, we are a pentecostal fellowship.  You can find out more about our beliefs by clicking this link: ASSEMBLIES OF GOD STATEMENT OF FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS.

Who we are

We are an authentic, spirit-filled group of people on a journey together. We seek to establish and maintain environments that offer the opportunity to build God’s Kingdom, and assume our share of spreading the good news of Christ by all means available.

Where we came from

We are an Assembly of God fellowship. The Assemblies of God was formed in 1914 in Hot Springs Arkansas by a group of people who were eager to see the Kingdom built through believers empowered by the Holy Spirit.  Byesville Assembly was established in 1929.

Where we are going

We want to continue to build the Kingdom of God right here, over there , and everywhere. To do so, we strive to  to empower disciples to connect with God, grow in His word, and share Christ with others through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What this means for you

You are on a faith journey, and we would be so excited to share that journey with you.  No one is called to walk alone.  We are a family of believers that is trusting in Almighty God to do what seems impossible to man.  You are invited to grow with us, and go with us into all of the world.
